Hello.

My name is Balazs, 34 years old, and I am a senior interface engineer at ustream.tv. I was invited to join this great project in 2007 and I am proud that I could contribute to the evolving of this site. When I started work, I was offered the tasks of engineering either the FMS server or the client side. This time I decided to go deep with the user interface - this is my active task - but I also contribute to the development of the entire system. I also give daily advise to the backend developers as I am working on the admin, monitoring applications written in Flex. We are currently working on an API for ustream.tv.

I have started my career as a freelancer in 1999, programming and designing websites for small advertising agencies along with other online tasks. I have joined Carnation in 2003 as a flash sitebuilder, and I have followed the evolution of this small company to become one of the biggest online agencies in Hungary. Before I left this agency seeking for new challenges, I was already working as a senior multimedia developer, being responsible for the development of complex flash tasks.

I was always interested in cutting edge technologies such as Flex and FMS, that is why I was happy to say yes to Jasmin Media Group - which was a company, operating one of the biggest private media server cluster for its own. This company operates the biggest traffic live camera adult sites of the world with an outstanding number of visitors and outgoing bandwith - serviced by an own server farm.

After a year Jasmin was already past its boom, so the company focused on maintenance, rather than technological development, so - to keep my professional interest and carreer flow - I have decided to accept the offer of ustream.tv, where the challenge derived from its traffic was lower, but the characteristics of the work was a stunning new experience.

I do really like exploring new technologies, but I enjoy it more to see how these new tecnologies add to a complex, consistent system.
